Student Interest Form

Please fill out the form below if you are interested in being part of India Research Corps. After an interview and a technical screening assignment, we will match you to a question based on your skills and interest.

Please keep in mind the eligibility criteria –
  • Any student pursuing a master’s degree in engineering, policy, or social sciences can apply to become an India Research Scholar.
  • PhD Scholars interested in such research can also apply to the programme.
  • This programme is ideally suited for 2nd-year Master’s, fresh postgraduates, or 3rd-year PhD students who have finished their coursework, since significant fieldwork might be involved. 
  • Willingness to travel to the field location in India, where the research needs to be undertaken.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical thinking and clarity of expression, and be able to work independently with structured guidance. 
 

Important instructions: 

 

  1. Select a question from the list of open questions and record a 3-5 minute video application for this question. You are required to answer the following questions in your video response

             a. Why are you interested in working on real-world research questions as an India Research Scholar? 

             b. Describe a research or analytical problem you have worked on. What was your approach? 
             c. What is one real-world problem you would like to address from the IRC list of open questions, and how would you design the methodology?

     

       2. Record in one continuous take, speaking clearly and directly. All video applications must be recorded in English, and should not be longer than 5                               minutes. No slides or presentations are required. We evaluate applications based on clarity of thought, not video production quality.

 

       3. Ensure that your CV is uploaded as a properly formatted PDF file

 

        4. Upload the video application and CV and submit your form to complete your application. 

 

Please note that applications without a CV and a video application for a specific open question will not qualify for the screening process.
