Express your interest in becoming an India Research Scholar now! If you are a Master’s student, recent postgraduate or PhD scholar looking to do research that informs decisions on the ground, this is where you start.

Four steps to complete your application

  1. Choose an open question: Browse the list of open research questions and select one you want to work on. Your application must be for a specific question.
  2. Record a video application: Record a single continuous take of 3–5 minutes in English, speaking clearly and directly to the camera. No presentations are needed. The video must address the following three questions:
    • Why are you interested in working on real-world research questions as an India Research Scholar?
    • Describe a research or analytical problem you have worked on. What was your approach?
    • Which open question from the IRC list would you like to work on, and how would you design the methodology?

    Note: Applications are evaluated on clarity of thought, not production quality.

  3. Prepare your CV: Upload a properly formatted CV as a PDF file.
  4. Submit the form below: Upload the video application and CV to the form below and submit it to complete your application. Please note that applications without a video application and a CV will not qualify for the screening process.
